  • Dubai blends the mystique of Arabia with 21st century luxury. A city full of contrasts, which presents a kaleidoscope of the past, the present and the future. Our route takes you to some of Dubai's most beautiful landmarks. There is no part of Dubai more impressive than Sheikh Zayed Road, which stuns newcomers to the city with its glitzy skyscrapers and other striking architectural wonders. Among the most impressive buildings is the Burj Khalifa, the tallest manmade structure in the world at over 828 metres and more than 160 stories.

After a photo stop at Burj Al Arab, an iconic symbol of Dubai and the only 7 star hotel in the world, we cruise along Jumeirah Beach, Dubai's picturesque palace and residential area that is also home to the famous Jumeirah Mosque. Strolling through Dubai's old quarters is the best way to get acquainted with the city's heritage. Bastakiya, an atmospheric old quarter by the Creek with a textile market are marked by narrow winding streets, old wind towers, restored buildings, boutique hotels, and art galleries. We then visit the fascinating underground Dubai Museum housed in the former Al Fahidi Fort.

Inside, feel the cooling effect of an old wind tower while you experience the traditional life of Bedouins and learn how the early pearl divers risked their life for the bounty of the Gulf water.

Crossing the Dubai Creek by the traditional water taxi known as abra, the walk continues through the fragrant and aromatic alleys of the Spice Souk in Deira. We continue passing by the colourful textile market, stop at the gold souk and find ourselves amazed at the sheer volume of dazzling gold jewellery.

After a visit to beautifully restored Palace of Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum, the grandfather of present ruler of Dubai, the former royal residence house is a rare collection of documents recording Dubai's growth and pay homage to the city's rich history.
